Biography

Sheila was a member of the Bowmen of Overdale archery club for 55 years - from its early days in 1951 to her death in 2006. She won a wide range of Lady Championships, including her Club (20 times), Lancashire County (4 times), the North Region (3 times) and Great Britain in 1964. She shot for Great Britain in the 1963 World Championships in Helsinki, finishing 7th overall. She was also involved with the Grand National Archery Society at national level, and helped to develop archery as a sport in the north region
