Biography |
Chris represented Great Britain in hurdles for ten years during the 1950s and 1960s. He began his running career at Bolton Harriers, before going on to run for Manchester University and then Great Britain. He set the English Native Record which later became the British record, for the 440 yards hurdles with a time of 51.6 seconds at White City Stadium in London in 1958. Chris travelled all over Europe representing Great Britain at athletics meetings including the European Championships, the Commonwealth Games and the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome. |
