Biography	Mary is a freelance designer who facilitated workshops in 2004 as part of public consultation about the Spirit of Sport. The workshops gave the people of Bolton the chance to be actively involved in the design of the sculpture. Mary worked with a local amateur boxing club to produce artwork capturing what they thought was the magic behind their love of the sport. With Mary, the younger members of the club spent several weeks making a large piece of art which expressed the feelings and emotions of boxing. The work was displayed at an exhibition at the University of Bolton marking the culmination of the community consultation. The designers of used the Spirit of Sport used the exhibition as inspiration for the sculptures design.
