Biography

Bob was a professional footballer with Bolton Wanderers and Lincoln City from 1946 to 1954 before starting refereeing in 1957. This experience helped him in his refereeing which showed up in his FA Cup Final in 1977. In addition to this he refereed the Charity Shield and a European Cup Winners Cup Semi Final. He was also on the FIFA Referees list and became an observer once he had retired from active refereeing. He has served on the Executive Committee from 1960 during which time he was Chairman, Auditor and Instructor and he is now an Honorary Life Member.
