Biography	A remarkable sportsman, who was confined to a wheelchair until the age of 14 after breaking his spine falling down stairs but went on to become one of Britain’s top Olympic weightlifters. He came 13th in the bantamweight class of the 1948 London Games but two years later was bedridden having lost the use of both his legs.
