Biography

As a Bolton born and bred football enthusiast Alex progressed from playing for his schools, local clubs to the Bolton Boys Federation Inter League U15s and U16s, Bolton U15s schoolboys team before reaching an early highlight in leading England U18s schoolboys undefeated on eight occasions in 2002. He also captained the British Catholic Schools team to two World Finals in France 2000 and Hungary 2001 where they won. In 2001/2002 he was captain of Greater Manchester County U19s and also captain of Turton High School U18s who were Lancashire League Champions. In 2002 he signed for Wallsall FC and played in the youth and reserve teams. In 2003 Alex moved to the USA to study and play for Fairfield University in Connecticut and in 2006/07 he captained the team to its first league title for nine years.
