Biography	John William Prescott (Jack) - 1908-1997 - had two great passions in life, Athletics and Horwich RMI Harriers.Without JW Prescott Horwich RMI Harriers quite simply would not be here today. He joined the Harriers in 1924 and was one of the top athletes of his day. He will be remembered for his undying commitment to his sport and his club. A member for over 70 years, Secretary for 33 years, voted Life President of the club. His legacy was the effect he had on so many young athletes. He was widely respected in Athletics circles, receiving a commemorative medal from the North of England AAA for services to Athletics. In 1997 he became the first recipient of the Horwich Civic Medal.
