Bert started wrestling as an amateur in 1946 at Bolton United Harriers on Bridgeman Street. Winner of 10 Stone Open Champion and many other amateur trophies he turned professional in 1952 becoming British Middleweight Champion in 1960 and European Heavy Middleweight Champion 1962. Bert wrestled all over Europe, Kenya and on television for many years throughout the 1960’s and 1970’s on “World of Sport” on Saturday afternoons with massive audiences on TV and packed venues. He was then joined by brother Vic Faulkner for the tag-team wrestling, which also proved to be very popular.
