Biography	Bert Couchman came to Bolton in 1926 having played cricket and football in the south and the Birmingham areas. He joined Heaton Cricket Club and played until the outbreak of war. After demob he joined Ratcliffe Cricket Club in the Central Lancashire League where he won a championship medal. He joined Bolton Cricket Club in 1948 playing regularly for the team until he was in his late sixties. As well as his cricket he played football for Bolton Wyresdale Football Club, first as centre half then in goal until he was in his late fifties and was the club captain for some years. He also captained Lancashire Amateur league sides.
