Biography Bridget started playing badminton at Walmsley Church Badminton Club in 1960 before joining Markland Hill and Bury YMCA a few years later. She played for Lancashire first team in 1962 and made 96 appearances. She was Lancashire singles champion five times and by 1972 she was ranked sixth in England. She reached the semi-finals of the Mixed Doubles in the All England Badminton Championship and the finals of the National Mixed Doubles Championships. She was selected for England v Scotland in 1972 and for the Uber Cup against Denmark and Holland in the same year. She played in the first tour in England of the Peoples? Republic of China in 1973.
Bridget won a total of 22 titles in the Lancashire Championships and won many Open Championships around the country (both Ladies Doubles and Mixed). She represented England in Open Championships in Holland, Jamaica and America with considerable success. She also played tennis for Lancashire and won the Bolton Charity Tennis Tournament Singles four times in 1963, 64, 65 and 66 and Ladies Doubles and Mixed events with her husband Geoff.
